This is my project: every day, for a year, I’ll take a photo of life lived with diabetes. You’re welcome to join me, if you like.
In doing this, I hope to share a small part of what it’s like for me to live with chronic illness, and how diabetes infiltrates every aspect of life. I’ll post my photos here, on my flickr site, and to the Diabetes Made Visible flickr group.

I love this idea very much. I don’t think I have the stamina to do it. I’m bad on the follow-through. I could do it for a month, though.
Who knows what may come of your project? So cool. You should tell Manny or post it on Tudiabetes.
I like your PJ bottoms, BTW!
Beth – I got the book! Have to finish Mark Haddon’s first! Fun idea, but no way could I do that! GOOD LUCK!
Beth,
This is amazing. You are amazing! I’m going to highlight your photo project on my site.
Best,
AmyT
Aw, thank you! It might be better with a few more photos, though
… I love DiabetesMine, such a great diabetes resource for our community.
Beth,
I should take more pictures of our lives with diabetes. Sometimes diabetes fades in the midst of everything. As chronic conditions seem to be fairly prevalent in my family, sometimes I have a hard time deciding which one to advocate for.
This is really cool
Haha, but I do have my peanut “excited” for when she can have her own pump! Not me, I’m not excited, I’ll be happy if she is on only lantus for like ever.
I love this idea! Our 11 month old (diagnosed at 8 months) is a Type 1 diabetic. This site, Amy’s Diabetes Mine blog are such incredible teaching resources for us as parents and in turn, our daughter.
Way to go Beth, thanks for the inspiration!
Cool idea.
Beth
Excellent idea.
I wonder if it’s worth a separate Flickr group as well. I’d tried to start that with the DiabetesAtHome Flickr group, but it’s not really gone anywhere as yet. (http://www.flickr.com/groups/mydiabetesathome/pool/).
I think its a great idea, but personally, I couldn’t do it, I don’t need to dedicate anymore time or effort to this disease than I do already! But I look forward to your pictures, but cannot help but think that it really should be like 3 pics per day, for a total of1,095 to represent the fact that its not just having to take a step once a day, it involves every meal, multiple times every day. We may be selling ourselves short otherwise … LOL!
