I started out on the fence, not sure if I preferred Clinton or Obama. A few months ago, I leaned heavily towards Obama. This move by the Clinton camp is just another reminder of why. I went from being enthusiastic about both candidates to being deeply embarrassed for one.

Smearing is the nature of politics. That is why I don’t like them. It all needs to be about the issues and what is best for the country. But the Obama campaign is just as guilty of spreading unsavory information.
I feel like this is different. The release and denial of any implication of the release sits very poorly with me, both in the primary and in what it may have done to the dems ability to carry the country (but doesn’t seem to have, fortunately). I don’t mean to argue about it, just venting a bit
I know you’re a Clinton gal and that’s cool.
Beth I totally get where you’re coming from.
It’s hard to separate the candidates from their camps though. I just find it hard to believe that either candidate (as they both seem like good people in my opinion) would ever choose to attack a person so slyly by themselves.
Everything about this race is so complicated. In one breath they both say they are proud to be in the presence of each other, then the camps start attacking each other. Like you said I just wish the Democratic party was more able to come together instead of being torn to shreds from the inside out, no matter who the nominee eventually is.
By the way, I don’t feel like it’s an argument, it’s healthy debate.
Well at least we can agree on that!
I feel like I’ve taken over your post with my ranting. So sorry.
I hope all is well in beautiful Bellingham!
Haha. No, you haven’t. I’ll be watching the debate tonight… bet you will be too!
I’m curious about the VP candidates on both sides. If Obama gets the presidential nod, who’ll he pick as a VP? It definitely won’t be Clinton.
And same thing on the Republican side. Would McCain pick Huckabee as a running mate?
I think, to a certain extent, the candidates are responsible for their campaign staff. If something like that is purported to come from the Clinton camp, then she (or her staff) should get to the bottom of it and the person/s responsible should be fired.
I don’t know who Obama would pick for VP. I think he’d need someone with international experience. I would love to see an Obama/Edwards ticket, but I don’t know if that will happen. I don’t think we’ll know anything until after this Tuesday, possibly longer if it’s a close thing.
I have no clue who McCain might pick. Huckabee would get him the conservative Christian vote, most likely.
