Thanks for the tag, Sarah.

Holiday songs are the best! Below are my favorites, and if you click the links, you can download them. They’ll be there for 100 downloads or one week, whichever is first. Playable on iTunes.

Since my husband is Jewish (though nonpracticing) and we’re both UU, secular is mostly what we listen to. But I agree with Sarah that there is nothing quite as lovely as Christmas hymns. Once In Royal David’s City and Lo How A Rose ‘Ere Blooming top my list there.

So here we go, top 5 Holiday songs…..

5.White Christmas, by Otis Redding.

4.They All Laughed, by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Ok, not a holiday song at all, but we always play it this time of year….

3.Winter Wonderland, by Etta James. She has the best deep, earthy, gutsy voice. Classic.

2.Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, also by Ella Fitzgerald.

1.Baby It’s Cold Outside, by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan. Just a really awesome holiday song. How can you possibly resist singing along?

At this point I have no idea who has already been tagged. So if you haven’t, and you’d like to be, consider yourself tagged.

Happy Holidays to all!!!!
