A friendly internet acquaintance of mine died today of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I say friendly acquaintance instead of friend because we honestly didn’t know each other very well, although we shared many artistic interests and had a few good conversations, and it would be a disservice to those who knew her well and loved her to claim more than what we had. She was young, younger than me, and married for just one year to the man she had loved for the past ten. She was a gardener and an artist, a humorist and a sweet and soulful young woman. She was a fighter, and brave, and ready.

She knew what it meant to make the most of every single day. She had a marvelous talent for finding joy in places where there was none.

In those ways, and many others, she was an inspiration.
